Today, the event titled “From ‘Going Global’ to ‘Going Deep’: Empowering Shandong Enterprises for High-Quality International Expansion” was held in the CBD of Jinan. Focusing on the needs of enterprises pursuing internationalization, the event featured policy interpretation, platform empowerment, case sharing, and interactive discussions. It aimed to help companies better seize global market opportunities, enhance their international development capabilities, and support Shandong enterprises in achieving higher-level, higher-quality global expansion.

The keynote speaker of this event was Xu Yan, Secretary-General of the Shandong International Talent Exchange Association and the Shandong Sci-Tech Innovation International Talent Development Foundation. She provided a systematic overview of the global landscape for enterprise internationalization, policy opportunities supporting Shandong companies going global, and the advantages of platform-based services.

Secretary-General Xu emphasized that, in the face of intensifying global competition and evolving trade environments, “going global” is no longer just about exporting products—it involves the comprehensive export of brands, standards, management systems, talent, and organizational capabilities. Leveraging strengths in international talent exchange, overseas network coordination, and cross-border resource integration, the Association and the Foundation have developed a three-stage service mechanism of “Diagnosis – Empowerment – Support.” This framework addresses key challenges faced by enterprises, such as complex regulatory environments, difficulties in local market entry, high barriers to channels, and shortages of international talent. The goal is to help enterprises avoid detours, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and receive more systematic, convenient, and precise support throughout their internationalization journey.

During the interactive session, participating enterprises engaged in in-depth discussions based on their own development needs, covering topics such as target market selection, overseas risk management, cross-border resource matching, brand localization, and the building of international teams. Experts responded to key concerns and, drawing on practical cases, shared insights on how companies can upgrade from “selling products” to “building systems,” transition from simple trade exports to localized operations, and leverage platform resources to improve the success rate of global expansion. The lively atmosphere further strengthened participants’ confidence in embracing international markets and expanding overseas business.

Following the event, Secretary-General Xu Yan was interviewed by Lixia District Media, where she shared insights on supporting enterprises’ international development within the district.

Through face-to-face exchanges, enterprises deepened mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for future resource integration, project collaboration, and targeted services. Participants widely noted that the event was practical and highly relevant, helping them better understand the trends and pathways of internationalization while providing an important platform to access policies, connect resources, and expand cooperation.

Looking ahead, the Shandong International Talent Exchange Association and the Shandong Sci-Tech Innovation International Talent Development Foundation will continue to focus on enterprise internationalization needs. By further integrating overseas networks, international talent resources, professional service institutions, and cross-border cooperation platforms, they aim to upgrade services from “point-based support” to “systematic empowerment,” and from “helping enterprises go global” to “helping them go deep, integrate locally, and thrive.” This will provide stronger support for high-quality international expansion of Shandong enterprises.

Following the launch of this event in Jinan CBD, a series of visits and outreach activities will be carried out across the province. These will extend to key cities, major industrial parks, industry clusters, and representative enterprises, delivering more targeted policy briefings, resource matchmaking, case sharing, and collaborative exchanges tailored to local industrial foundations and enterprise characteristics. The initiative will further extend internationalization empowerment services to grassroots levels, deepen engagement within industries, and achieve province-wide coverage—supporting more Shandong enterprises in expanding into global markets and enhancing their global competitiveness.
